Sex, Drugs, and the Future of Social Psychology Lazenby Hall, Room 34, at 4:00 PM Thursday, May 6, 1999
Social Psychology enjoys a unique and potentially powerful position within the social and behavioral sciences. It is through Social Psychology that social and behavioral science is best able to address problems in education, health, environment, and information technology. Yet, Social Psychology does not capture enough research money, does not command enough appreciation in universities, in the media, and in government, and as a result fails to provide significant influence on social policy. Why is this so? What can and should social psychologists be doing to promote their great discipline? The answers will shape the future of Social Psychology.
