Tales from the front: The social psychology of the social psychologist in court This colloquium will focus on a relatively unnoticed and perhaps unappreciated side of social psychology work: the presentation of social psychological research in the courtroom context. In particular, we will focus on expert testimony in two areas of applied social psychology: (1) the psychology of eyewitness testimony and of eyewitness evidence collection; and (2) the psychology of interrogations and confessions. We will discuss both the evolving science, policy, and law in both of these areas, as well as what happens to the social psychologist who dares to venture into court.
